Early Greek Ship
In this drawing the major rigging elements for a vessel under sail are clearly shown:
--Mast;
--Yard;
--Forestays;
--Brails;
--Sheets;
--Braces;
--Sail;
and the double steering Oars. This ship design probably dates from the fourth century BC or earlier.
