Aqueduct Design #2
Here we see the construction of the aqueduct, with the water pipe on top, and the arches supporting it. the arches also are connecting the piers together. The foundations for each pier are especially designed as a steady footing. The ground line is shown in dark brown.
Aqueduct Design
In the top box the Aqueduct Profile line is established using vertical measurements and an imaginary sight line.
In the lower box, the measuring sticks are in evidence for measuring the vertical dimensions to the imaginary line, and the water leveling table (chorobate) is used to define the imaginary line.
St. Michael -- 12th Century
In this picture, St. Michael appears to wear a "quilted" corselet. He is also well armed with a spear, compound bow, and arrows. Behind him is his shield. This drawing is a tracing from a primary drawing of a Thessalonikan Steatite.
